About the company
Started in high school, trained as a designer
Wilhelm Landscapes & Hardscapes is Hunter Wilhelm’s company, based in Brentwood and working in Franklin and Nashville.
01Hunter Wilhelm
The founder is the designer
Hunter Wilhelm started this company while he was still in high school. Rather than set it aside for college, he kept it running while he studied landscape architecture at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, so the business grew up with both halves of the trade: how a landscape should be drawn, and how it actually gets built on a Middle Tennessee lot.
Today that covers seven services, from planting plans and lawn care to grading, drainage, retaining walls and outdoor living. By the company’s own count it has more than a decade behind it and more than 500 finished projects.
Read the reviews and the same name comes up each time. Hunter is the one who returns the quote and confirms the details, and his crew does the work.
02How a job runs
Four steps, the same on every job
From a single bed to a sloped back yard rebuilt from the dirt up, the work goes in this order, and the consultation and the written estimate at the start are free.
-
01
Consultation
An on-site visit: the property walked with you, what you want the yard to do, and a look at the slope, the water and the sun before anything is drawn.
-
02
Design
A plan for the planting, the stone and the grades, with the materials picked out and a written estimate you can hold on to.
-
03
Installation
The crew builds it, and at the end walks you through what was done and how to care for it. Most patios and hardscapes take one to three weeks.
-
04
Maintenance
A care plan built around what you planted and what you want to spend, so the yard still looks like the day it was finished.
03What neighbors say
A Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite
Neighbors on Nextdoor voted Wilhelm a Neighborhood Favorite in 2024, and the reviews on its Nextdoor page come from homeowners in Brentwood and Nashville. One of them, from a Nashville family who chose Wilhelm for a retaining wall, is on the hardscape page.
What Wilhelm builds: landscape design & installation, hardscape construction, outdoor living & patios, grading & site prep, drainage solutions, lawn & yard care and project planning & consulting.
Wilhelm landscapes do fantastic work.
